Chatty Café at CF61
The café is volunteer-run by More in Common Llantwit Major and thanks to funding from Comic Relief it will happen on the first Saturday of each month between 10.30 and 11.30am. This includes one on the 2nd of January – legislation permitting of course! There is a free cup of tea and a warm and friendly welcome for everyone – though booking is essential.
The Café this Saturday kicks off the Great Winter Get Together, which involves a series of virtual and physical meet-ups during December and January.
More in Common is a UK-wide network inspired by the work of the Jo Cox Foundation. It formed following the first Great Get Together, which celebrated the late Jo Cox’s philosophy that “we have far more in common than that which divides us”. More in Common Llantwit Major is the first in the network to be established in Wales.
Chatty Café is inspired by the Jo Cox Loneliness Report and aims to provide an opportunity for people to meet to combat loneliness and isolation. It began in March 2018, and was about to celebrate its first birthday in April when the Covid-19 put it on hold. But the pandemic has only made loneliness and isolation worse for many, and so the More in Common Llantwit Major have worked tirelessly to bring the Café back.
